When You're A Jet, You're A Jet

It took almost two months, but ol' Billy C landed himself a gig, back in the NFL no less. Ladies and Gentlemen, your new Assistant Head Coach for the New York Jets. Eric Mangini, who's lone highlight of 2007 was garnering an appearance on the penultimate episode of The Sopranos, is happy to bring the little guy to the Meadowland. Callahan's lone highlight during his Nebraska tenure was obviously the fact that he never had to make eye contact with Dave Wannstedt.

Safe move for Billy C. He gets the desired "Get Out of Nebraska" card and gets back to where he still has at least a dwindling amount of respect. If shit goes sour, it's likely Mangini who will take the major criticism. Which means in 2010, your new head coach of the New York Jets is most likely going to be...our boy Billy C. And then he can hire Cosgrove as his defensive coordinator!

pretty sure Coz is not going anywhere to glamourous after ranking 116th in rush defense. BTW, Pelini's contract is out 1.1. million, I would say we got him on the cheap.

This just in... Shawn Watson is one of three candidates for the Alabama OC job... we lose him and the pelini vs. gill hire doesnt look so good anymore...

This just in: Watson is staying put. I can't divulge the actual source, but evidently there was a Come to Jesus meeting between Bo & Shawn, all that happened was that snakey Nick Saban called Watson to inquire, and that was it. The fly in the ointment was Watson failed to tell Pelini about Saban calling him before the media got a hold of it. But the OC is staying, at least for a year.

If you ask me, that man's got designs on going pro someday anyhow.

So much for the "Brokeback" sequel. Heath Ledger apparently OD'd.

Matt Perrault said that Watson is currently getting interest from the NFL... I have a hard time believing that he will stay if he is offerred an OC job in the bigs...

The Heath Ledger thing pisses me off a little. In my 2008 notes, I was all over Ledger in the Death pool challenge, but DL never did get the game up and running. we now have 3 writers for this blog and a new post has not even come up in over a week. Get to work boys...
