Reports did say that Phillips found them in bed together or fornicateing. Most reports said that Scotty was finnaly able to save the girl and stop Phillips massive assult. Some say that Scott might have been in the closet because phillips had smacked Scotty around and thew him into the closet locking Scott in there. Pehaps phillips was going to come back for Scotty latter? Anyways Scotty did get out probably by breaking out. After getting out of the closet Scotty went after Phillips, beating him off of his woman.

I do not know what Phillips looks like or how tuff he is. So who would win in an Lawence Phillips vs Scott Frost fight?

If anything Scotty is a hero in this sad story.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33127647.post-1167045160873668002006-12-25T05:12:00.000-06:002006-12-25T05:12:00.000-06:00I have followed NEB football eveery since I was a ...I have followed NEB football eveery since I was a young kid...I was 15 when LP did what he did to his promiscuous jump-shooting girlfriend.

What I did not know is that it happened because he found her in bed with Scott Frost!!! Oh my goodness, over 10 years later I find this out? I must agree with MAC g that Frost's role in the whole mess basically went unreported incomparison to the dark and deadly Phillips' and light and lovely McEwan's respective roles.

Unbelievable! I loved Frazier because he was so damned tough, undeniable, and flawless...Crouch because he was so damn fast and elusive...Frost was cool because he did and okay job filling Frazier's shoes in spite of how great and untouchable Frasier was.

After hearing about Scotty "hiding in a closet from LP..." I have to say I am a little disappointed. Hell, it was 10 years ago, but still it amazes me because I simply had never heard this part of the story!

JMH in TexasAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33127647.post-1165940733791123172006-12-12T10:25:00.000-06:002006-12-12T10:25:00.000-06:00Whatever happened to Kate McEwan, the woman that L...Whatever happened to Kate McEwan, the woman that LP assaulted?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33127647.post-1161716937165379172006-10-24T14:08:00.000-05:002006-10-24T14:08:00.000-05:00Another Great Post. You do forget to mention that ...Another Great Post. You do forget to mention that the Skers should have won that FSU game. Byron Bennett shanked GW FG, and I mean SHANK!! At Least Scott Norwood barely missed his Super Bowl GW FG, Bennett's was a total choke job. When Vanderjact pushed his Tying FG in the playoffs last season WAY right, Bennetts miss immediately came to mind.

Also, FSU scored 1 TD in that game, and it was total BS. Floyd fumbled the ball before reaching the goaline, replays showed this too. Plus the national media wanted a Bowden National Title so bad too.

I do agree that this game put the 90's skers on the map. Moving to the 4-3 D, with DB's as Outside LB's, was another key move. OH, and having the best college football QB ever for 4 years, didnt hurt either!

As for LP, I am truly ashamed that I once defended this scumbag. I bought into Dr.Tom's argument of wanting to help out a troubled youth, more so than he just kicked the crap out of a girl. I guess that is what happens when you are blinded by the program.

I still rooted for LP in the NFL but once I heard that LP was a no show for Dr.Tom reunion event a few years back, I was like you ungrateful piece of (*&(&!! I am done with your punk ass. It was only a matter of time, until he went right back to where he came from, the gutter.

I am glad that you did mention Frost was the other man in all of this. A friend of mine and member of the 95 team once told me, that she told LP that night after the Michigan ST game that she was with a real man now, unlike him. I forget the exact words but something to that effect. He was set off and went looking for him and her.

Everyone knows what happened, but the media failed to critcize Mr Frost's role.

who hid in the closet while a girl he was banging was getting dragged down the stairs? I know this is FD up and male machismo way of thinking, but who deserved to be beat up? The girl, or the "teammate" who was banging the star players girlfriend while he was on a roadtrip?

LP should not have beat up anyone, but Frost should have at least defended the girl from the LP Monster and instead he hid like a pussy. Plus, you are telling me he never heard her scream? and he still did nothing? what kind of real man are you?

2 years later, Frost leads Skers to a national title, and everything is all good.

I felt the need to get that off my chest. I always thought it was the most underreported aspect of the whole LP domestic abuse story. Keep up the Blog, GO Big Red.

ps. My vote for game of the 90s, Skers, from the 94 season, No Frazier, in Lincoln, against, Kordell, Charles Johnson, Salaam, Chad Brown, Buffs were loaded with NFL talent, Skers were underdogs and Skers CRUSHED em, I want to say like 24-7. Total Domination.Mac Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03562419748252157914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33127647.post-1160678306517726732006-10-12T13:38:00.000-05:002006-10-12T13:38:00.000-05:00I hate to see talent like that wasted. Some of the runs he had were pretty damn good, and I'll never forget that 62-28 ass whooping that the 'Huskers put on the Gators(that was a sad night).BDochttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15132679892742279721noreply@blogger.com
